That's where the team at Whitesburg Animal Hospital can help. Our certified canine obedience trainer brings extensive experience in behavior training for a wide range dog breeds, and can provide advice on your specific requirements.

Behavior Training Options at Whitesburg Animal Hospital

Whitesburg Animal Hospital is pleased to offer the following American Kennel Club® training programs:

S.T.A.R. Puppy (Socialization, Training, Activity, and Responsible ownership)
Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
Advanced Canine Good Citizen (CGCA)

Shea Baker, our certified canine obedience trainer, conducts each of our classes. Classes are seven weeks long, one hour per week, with testing on the 7th week. Upon completion, owners will be able to send the appropriate paperwork to the American Kennel Club and receive their S.T.A.R. Puppy, CGC, or CGCA certificate. Private training sessions are also available for dogs who need one-on-one training.

Please contact us for more information about behavior training.

What are the benefits of behavior training?

Correct bad habits or specific behavior problems

Despite our best efforts, our dogs can develop bad habits or behavior problems that need professional attention and correction. Not only will these behaviors be addressed, but you'll also learn how to redirect your pet's actions to more appropriate behavior.

Develop a stronger bond with your dog

While part of behavior training focuses on addressing negative or unwanted behaviors in your dog, it will also help you build a solid, trusting relationship and afford opportunities for continued learning - for both you and your pet.

Help your dog feel fulfilled and confident.

Confident, stimulated and fulfilled dogs are well-behaved dogs. Behavior training will help both of you feel more fulfilled - and your dog will enjoy showing off their new skills.
